It makes one wonders, how time flies! We are already done with the first quarter of the Rotary year and we have had amazing attendance in all Rotary events.
The Youth (5th avenue of service) Seminar took place on October 3rd. UNICEF along with specialized dentists from Misr International University (MIU) provided Train of the Trainers (TOT) informative session on hand washing and dental hygiene to our rotary and Rotaract members to enable them disseminate correct information to the schools/hospitals/orphanages which we will be visiting during the period of 15 - 30 October 2015 to participate in this initiative.

DISTRICT GOVERNOR's OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
It makes one wonders, how time flies! We are already done with the first quarter of the Rotary year and we have had amazing attendance in all Rotary events.
The Youth (5th avenue of service) Seminar took place on October 3rd. UNICEF along with specialized dentists from Misr International University (MIU) provided Train of the Trainers (TOT) informative session on hand washing and dental hygiene to our rotary and Rotaract members to enable them disseminate correct information to the schools/hospitals/orphanages which we will be visiting during the period of 15 - 30 October 2015 to participate in this initiative. The TOT session was held on Tuesday 6 October at the Rotary office, Heliopolis. October also brings to us the October 10th Forum in Cairo Conrad, an exhibit of Egyptian products will be there for you to browse and support. Another ICC Protocol will be signed with Switzerland on October 14th. Polio day will follow on October 24th.

My official visits to the clubs started on the 30th of September 30, 2015 and will continue until the end of December 2015.
The month of September has been an eventful one. A number of our district leaders including myself have participated in the Reach Out to Africa (ROTA) meeting in Mombasa, Kenya on Sept. 21 – 22, with the attendance of RI President K.R (Ravi) Ravindran.
We had an important visit late September by RI Director Şafak Alpay, Chair of Executive Committee of Rotary International and Director of Zone 20 B and Dean of Representatives Network and former Secretary General of RI, Ed Futa, to explore possibilities of cooperation with the League of Arab State (LAS) and review our district progress and strategies, the visit ended with a Gala reception on September 28th at Le Pacha boat.

A protocol of cooperation to support the “Water for Life” project with UNICEF was signed with the Heliopolis Association 14th Sept. On September 15th, I was so pleased to attend the first meeting between Club Presidents and Secretaries to exchange views and discuss areas of improvement. The meeting was hosted at Heliopolis Sporting club.

In fact, I find it difficult to mention the achievements of Clubs and Committees during the first three months, as they were too many. I am happy to see a good sign in membership as we had a slight growth in membership during the first two months (July / August), I hope we continue this growth in all clubs, with special focus on Retention.

More district events are coming up, the Family of Rotary will be organizing a fellowship trip to Portside from October 30-31. The TRF joint District Seminar will be held in Sharm El Sheikh jointly with District 2452 from 26 to 28 November 2015 at Savoy Resort. The reservation for our district Conference in Aswan (March 3 – 6, 2016) is underway. I highly encourage all of you to attend.

I wish to thank all of you for the good spirit and concern for effectiveness in all aspects of our Rotary activities, keep it up!
